Cadmium Chloride - CdCl2
CdCl2 has a common structural arrangement shared by many halides of the transition metals with formula MX2. It has a cubic close packed array of chloride ions with Cd(II) sitting in 1/2 of adjacent octahedral sites.


Complexes that share this structure include..
MnCl2, FeCl2, CoCl2, NiCl2, NiBr2, NiI2, CuCl2.
